It was a long search for Marty to find his true calling. While he has tried a number of jobs, he remained passionate about working with children. Marty has more than sixteen years experience working with kids. Doing everything from being the Youth Entertainment Director on board cruise ships to working as a Special Educational Assistant with the Burnaby School Board. Marty decided to drop everything in 2012 and make a drastic career change. He wanted to try something totally different, so he went to the oil sands to drive the biggest trucks in the world. It was clearly not a job that was a good fit for him as he had to leave his family at home.
At that moment he became aware of what he wanted to do with his life and how he wanted to contribute here. Marty’s desire is for every child to experience wonder, magic and the power of imagination, just as he had as a kid. Marty truly believes that having a healthy imagination can empower anyone to know what they want to be in life and help them find creative ways to deal with life’s difficult challenges.
“The beauty of imagination is it allows you to see it before it happens, creating what you are not now but what you can be!”
